Terms of Use

Updated 13 October 2026

These terms apply when you use mysrd.org.za. The site is published by MYSRD (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa under number 2026/628035/07. If you use this site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

MySRD is an independent information website. We write plain-language guides about SASSA grants, the SRD R370 grant, payment dates, appeals, and related South African topics.

We are not SASSA. We are not the Department of Social Development. We have no link to any South African government body. We do not take applications, review appeals, verify identities, or pay out grants. Only SASSA can do those things.

The site is free. There is no login, no account, and nothing to pay. We are not a loan service.

Using the SRD status checker

Our home page has a tool that checks SRD R370 status. It asks for an ID number and the cellphone number used on that SRD application. SASSA needs both to find a record.

When you use the tool, you confirm that:

  • the details are your own, or
  • the person they belong to has asked you to check for them.

Do not use the tool to look up someone else without their permission. Do not use it to check lists of ID numbers.

We send the details to SASSA to get the answer. We do not keep them. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.

The result comes from SASSA, not from us. If the tool is down, or SASSA is down, use the official portal at srd.sassa.gov.za or phone 0800 60 10 11.

What you may not do

Please do not:

  • copy large parts of the site and publish them elsewhere as your own
  • run bots or scripts against the site or the status checker
  • try to break, overload, or get around any security on the site
  • present the site as official, or as part of SASSA
  • use anything here to mislead or defraud another person

We cannot promise the information is always current

We check grant amounts, phone numbers, web addresses, and payment dates against official sources before we publish. We update pages when the facts change.

Even so, SASSA rules and amounts can change at any time, and without notice. A page here may be out of date when you read it.

Where this site and SASSA disagree, SASSA is right. Always confirm on sassa.gov.za or by phoning 0800 60 10 11 before you act on anything that matters.

If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will fix it.

This is not professional advice

Everything here is general information about how grants and government services work. It is not legal advice and it is not financial advice. It does not replace advice from SASSA, a paralegal, a legal aid clinic, or a qualified professional.

Links to other websites

We link to official SASSA and government websites so you can check our facts. We do not run those sites. We are not responsible for what they say or whether they work.

We do not sell links and we do not take affiliate payments on SASSA content.

Our content

The words, page layouts, and design on this site belong to MYSRD (Pty) Ltd. You may quote a short passage if you credit MySRD and link to the page you took it from. You may not republish whole articles.

Grant amounts, dates, phone numbers, and other facts are public information. Those are free for anyone to use.

Scam warning

We will never ask for your banking PIN, your password, your card number, or a one-time PIN. Anyone who says they are from this site and asks for those is a scammer. Report them to SASSA on 0800 60 10 11.

If something goes wrong

We publish this site in good faith and we work to keep it accurate. We cannot accept responsibility for a loss that follows from acting on information here, or from the site or the status checker being unavailable. Check anything important with SASSA first.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other South African law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the last change. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

South African law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
